In 2016 Kay designed and released one of her most popular sock patterns, the Prairie Socks. Since writing that pattern, she had always wanted to design a hat based on the stitch pattern used in the socks. The Prairie Hat is that pattern!
The modified two by two ribbing produces a beautiful twisted effect and flies off the needles. The body of the hat features a stitch design which represents the wheat blowing in the fields on the prairies.
