Lady Mary Mitts

The ‘Lady Mary Mitts’ are the second pattern in our Platinum Collection for 2020, available free to Platinum Bakery Bear Patrons. The ‘Lady Mary Mitts’ are an elegant pair of lace mitts, perfect for wearing as you venture out to explore your estate. 

This design is inspired by the TV series, ‘Downton Abbey’. They are named after the character ‘Lady Mary’. The pattern also includes an original ‘Nellie Wright’ short story. We introduced you to ‘Nellie’ of ‘Wrights Dressmakers’ in Ripon with Kay’s ‘Tea at Downton’ socks.

Approximately 230 yards of fingering weight yarn

NEEDLES

2.5mm (US size 1.5) 32 inch (80cm) circular knitting needle for magic loop – You can use double pointed needles if that is your preferred method. Adjust your needle size to obtain gauge if necessary. 

SIZE

One size to fit an average ladies hand, 7-8 inches in circumference. Adjust size by using a smaller or larger needle, and/or by using heavy fingering/sport yarn.
