Fairground Socks

The ‘Fairground Socks’ are a simple lace fingering weight sock pattern. The stitch pattern has been developed specifically to show off self striping yarn to perfection! 

The ‘Fairground Socks’ were inspired by the feel of a traditional carousel ride. The undulating curves are created using our own modification to the much loved feather and fan stitch. The pattern includes two heel options.

YARN

100g fingering weight yarn (400m/436 yards)

20g fingering weight yarn for contrast (80m/87 yards)

NEEDLES

2.25mm (US size 1) 32 inch (80cm) for knitting in the round (You can use DPN’s if that is your preference) – tapestry needle  – 2 stitch markers

DK weight version: increase needle size to 3.25mm 

SIZE

Small – 8 inch (20cm) foot circumference 

Medium – 9 inch (23cm) foot circumference 

Large – 10/11 inch (25/27) foot circumference
